The question might come up when traveling do you need a passport to visit St. Thomas? The answer is that while you won’t need a passport when you’re entering St. Thomas, but if you’re flying you will most likely be required to show a valid passport when you return to go through American security. Don’t make things more difficult without traveling with this all important document. Even though it’s not required to enter the tropical paradise, you will be in a bind if you try to renter the United States without one.
There’s one more thing you could try to enjoy the islands without a passport. You could take a cruise to St. Thomas and provided you enter and exit through the same port you’ll be just fine.
