Today is arts and crafts day.
After the pretentious lady in the posh music store made me feel too inadequate to play a ukulele (sales pitch backfire!) I decided that playing the tiny annoying instrument would never be attainable. Until – the salvation army.
Just a few blocks from where we were staying is a massive salvation army op shop. And in that op shop, we found the exact brand of ukulele that the woman was trying to sell to us. Her price: $55
Our price: $15
There was just one problem. The ukulele was pink….not orange….or even yellow. What ever to do?
And this bring us to: ARTS AND CRAFTS DAY.
Step 1: Go to your local dollar store and buy some poster paint
Step 2: Tape the edges of the ukulele so that you can make an awesome blue and pink asymmetrical check pattern (or whatever other pattern you want)
Step 3: Paint the ukulele – preferably in some sort of public forum where people can give you awkward looks
Now, if you have followed these instructions exactly, your ukulele should appear as follows:
Disclaimer: Avoid shining the ukulele directly into your eyes
